With her family's support and encouragement, she joined The Paul Madore Chorale in Salem. MA. When her husband's work took them to Raleigh, NC, Anne returned to school to study classical voice and acting at Meredith College. While living in Raleigh, Anne began performing as a singer. Many workshops, musicals, and even a short stint as a member of the local opera company later, she decided that cabaret was where she felt most at home.
